Blugaria Air is the national airline of Bulgaria. The airline has been operating on the market since 2002, and its headquarter is located in Sofia. This airlines was established in order to replace bankrupt Balkan Bulgarian Airlines. The carriers operates flights to Europe and to Middle East. Together with its allies, such as Air France or Iberia, allows passengers to travel to several hundred destinations in the whole world. Bulgaria Air offers also a possibility to purchase charter flights to more than 100 places and leasing aircrafts.

Luggage

In Bulgaria Air luggage has specified dimensions and weight which are included in the regulations of the carrier. Regardless of the booking class, passengers are allowed to take one hand luggage at the price ticket. Cosmetics and liquids should be transported in packages of up to 100ml. In hand luggage must not contain dangerous or illegal objects (a list of prohibited objects is available on the carrier’s website).

The allowed amount of the luggage depends on selected booking class. Business class passengers may take one luggage more than passengers of economy class. Dimensions and weight of luggage are strictly limited. The excess luggage requires additional fee, which depends not only on the excess weight or dimensions but also on the travel route (national or international flight).

Booking classes

Bulgaria Air has two booking classes: economy and business. Choosing the class is associated with certain privileges during the flight. For instance, business class passengers have on their disposal comfortable space, perfect for leisure or work during the flight. They also have varied catering and can take bigger checked luggage. What is more, during the flight, passengers of business class have on their disposal separate crew.

Online check-in

Sofia Airport is located about 10 km away from the city center. It’s the biggest airport in Bulgaria. The distance between city and airport can be covered by bus or taxi. In 2006, a second terminal with 34 check-in desks for travelers was opened – the building has an area of over 56 thousand m2, including 4000 m2 for commercial premises. In the same year, Terminal 1 was designed to serve low-cost airlines. At the airport area there are restaurants, cafes, shops, medical aid points, banks, post office, exchange offices, travel agencies, and car rentals. The building is adapted for disabled people (elevators, toilets for disabled people). Passengers can also use the public parking, located in front of the airport and parking near the terminals – Terminal 1 has 400 places for car, Terminal 2 has 800.

Meals

Bulgaria Air provides passengers a comfortable journey with catering in the price of a ticket. The menu is varied and depends on the booking class. Economy class passengers can choose drinks such as: tea, coffee, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as snacks and sandwiches. Vegetarians can ask for vegetarian sandwich, but this request must be made no later than 24 hours before the flight. Business class passengers receive a welcome drink. During the flight they can drink coffee, tea, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and also hot meals.

Additional services

The carrier makes efforts to ensure that passengers are satisfied of its services.
