Sky Express

Sky Express is a Greek airline based at Athens International Airport. The carrier’s legal name is Cretan Aeronautical Exploitations. With its 32 destinations across the country, serving 63 routes, Sky Express boasts the largest domestic network in Greece. It operates more than 30,000 flights per year. Sky Express is a member of ERA (European Regional Airlines Association) and has codeshare agreements with Blue Air, Air France and KLM.

Baggage

Passengers travelling with Sky Express are allowed to take one carry-on and a small personal item such as a purse or a laptop bag on board the aircraft. It must comply with the Sky Express baggage policy, which means that it may not exceed the dimensions of 45 cm x 35 cm x 20 cm and the maximum weight of 6kg for all fares, except for SkyBasic+, which has the 8kg cabin baggage allowance. Children from 2 to 12 years old have the same cabin baggage allowance as their parent(s). SkyFly customers can additionally bring 8kg checked baggage, whereas those travelling on SkySave and SkyBasic tickets are entitled to carry a 15kg bag. Passengers flying on the SkySmart and SkyBasic+ tariff can enjoy 23kg registered baggage allowance. Each customer can bring no more than two checked bags and the total weight may not exceed the 43kg limit. Additional items of baggage should be added online when booking a flight to avoid costly airport fees.

Booking classes

Sky Express offers four types of tickets: SkyFly, SkySave, SkySmart and SkyBasicPlus. All of them come with 6kg cabin baggage allowance, except for the latter, which allows to take 8kg cabin baggage. The SkyFly tariff is an economy option with 8kg check-in baggage, dedicated to those who travel light. SkySave customers can bring up to 15kg registered baggage and are allowed to use the executive lounge. With SkyBasicPlus, customers are entitled to 8kg hand baggage and 23kg checked baggage. They can also change the date of the flight, enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and refreshments in the executive lounge and get to the departure gate quicker using security fast lane. This fare is offered only on the routes from and to Athens for Zakynthos, Ikaria, Karpathos, Kythira, Milos, Naxos, Paros, Skiathos, and to and from Thessaloniki for Samos and Chios.

Online check-in

The only way to check-in for a flight is at dedicated airport counters. It is advisable to arrive at the airport early enough to be able to manage to complete all the necessary procedures in time as check-in is only available between two hours and 30 minutes prior to the flight departure time (it is 30 minutes before at Athens Airport).

Fleet

Sky Express operates a fleet of 21 ATR 42 and 72 series twin-turboprop aircraft produced in France and Italy, designed to fly short-haul and marked by great performance, especially in hot and high conditions. The planes can seat from 46 to 70 passengers.

Sky Express does not provide catering service on its flights. Passengers are treated to a complimentary snack or drink during the flights longer than 30 minutes.
