easyJet

This British budget carrier, headquartered at London Luton Airport, is ranked among 10 world's largest airlines by passengers carried. Operating since 1995, in 2018 easyJet flew 88,5 million passengers. It serves over 900 routes to more than 30 countries, mainly in Europe, offering domestic and international scheduled flights. EasyJet specializes in short-haul flights at affordable prices. The carrier was awarded the Best Short-Haul Airline at the 2018 Business Travel Awards.

Baggage

One cabin bag per person can be brought on board the aircraft, small enough to fit into the overhead locker, otherwise it will be transported in the hold. Baggage exceeding the maximum 56x45x25cm dimensions must be checked and an additional charge will be collected. Checked baggage can be added online or via EasyJet application. It can also be done at the airport but it’s more costly.

Travelers are allowed to bring several extra items for free such as an umbrella, overcoat, crutches, walking stick and one standard shopping bag of duty free goods bought at the airport.

 

Booking classes

EasyJet offers economy class service which includes the flight and one cabin bag. Any additional services are available at additional cost. With products such as Flexi, Upfront, Extra Legroom and easyJet Plus, passengers can bring an additional underseat bag, free 23kg hold baggage, change flight dates and times, select their preferred seat or have an extra legroom seat, be first on board the aircraft and more. Speedy Boarding customers board first, after passengers who need special assistance and parents travelling with children up to 5 years old.

Online check-in

Although passengers may check-in at the airport between 2 hours and 40 minutes before the flight, it helps save tons of time when done earlier at home. EasyJet customers can check-in online or on the mobile app with the booking reference or through Manage Bookings, where changes to the reservation can also be made. Online check-in opens between 30 days and 2 hours before the flight departure. The boarding pass is essential and must be printed off every time any change to the reservation is made. Most of the airports accept mobile boarding passes.

Fleet

The EasyJet fleet consists of Airbus family aircraft such as: Airbus A319-100, A320-200 and A321-200. In common with other low-cost carriers, it operates a modern and relatively new fleet. EasyJet focuses on improving the environmental impact of its operations as much as possible. Its new fleet comprises new-generation aircraft equipped with modern engines that are more fuel efficient than the existing ones. The new airplanes also have more seats to fly more passengers at a time plus new lightweight seats have been purchased to save fuel.

Refreshments are not provided in the fare when flying with EasyJet, they can be purchased before or during the flight. When booking online, passengers can purchase a Bistro Voucher to save 20% on drinks and snacks onboard. EasyJet Bistro menu includes various options: hot and cold drinks, alcoholic beverages, light meals, sandwiches, soups, confectionery as well as sweet and savoury snacks. Champagne service can also be pre-ordered to celebrate special occasions.

Additional services

Passengers of reduced mobility can be provided special assistance. It is necessary to notify the airline of such a need at least 48 hours before the departure while making a booking or by calling the call centre. A guide or assistance dogs accompanying the visually-impaired travelers are also accepted by EasyJet.

When flying with EasyJet, passengers can purchase gifts such as fragrances, cosmetics, gadgets and accessories. As part of the entertainment options, EasyJet’s free in-flight magazine called the Traveller is distributed to passengers. It includes interesting articles and information on such topics as travel, sport, business and lifestyle and reaches up to 86 million passengers per annum.
