Trabzon
Trabzon is a city in north-eastern Turkey on the Black Sea, with a rich history reaching back to 756 BC. It has more than 240 thousand inhabitants, while the whole conurbation exceeds 400 thousand. It was once the capital of the Empire of Trebizond, which makes it an important historical and cultural site. Trabzon draws visitors with monuments such as the Hagia Sophia and with its Pontic style of religious architecture. The climate is temperate, with mild winters and warm summers, making spring and autumn ideal times to visit.
