Chisinau
Chișinău, the capital of Moldova, is the country's largest city, with 665.5 thousand inhabitants. Covering an area of 123 km², it is divided into five sectors. The etymology of its name goes back to Old Romanian words meaning new spring. The city was founded in 1466 and has a rich history shaped by Turkish and Russian influences.
