Douala
Douala is the largest city in Cameroon, set on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea. It is the country's key economic and cultural centre. The city is home to around 2.5 million people, including the Duala people, who speak the Duala language of the Bantu family. The bustling markets are worth a visit, as is sampling the local dishes. An equatorial climate means high temperatures all year round, with rainfall from April to October. The best time to visit is the dry season, from November to March.
