Uruguay
Uruguay is a country in South America, bordered by Argentina and Brazil, with a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. Its capital is Montevideo, set on the shores of the Río de la Plata. The landscape is characterized mainly by gently rolling plains, forming a transition between the Argentine Pampas and the Brazilian Highlands. The country’s highest point, Cerro Catedral, rises to 513 meters above sea level. Uruguay enjoys a temperate climate, with mild winters and warm summers. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit, when temperatures are especially pleasant. The country’s name originates from the Guarani language.
