Nice, on the French Riviera at the foot of the Maritime Alps, is France's fifth largest city with a population of 342,295. It is known for the scenic 7 km long Promenade des Anglais and its seaports. Nice is home to a university, an opera house and numerous museums. Average temperatures reach 25-30°C in summer and 10-15°C in winter, making it appealing all year round.
