Airport Palermo Punta Raisi

Originally it was named Punta Raisi, but it was renamed Falcone Borsellino Airport in the 1990s to commemorate two Italian antimafia judges, Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, who were murdered by the mafia in 1992. Over 30 regular and low-cost airlines operate domestic and international routes from the airport.

The airport handles over 4.9 million passengers per annum.

The Prestia e Comande bus operates on the route from Palermo to the airport. The first bus departs at 4:00 am, and from 5:00 it runs every 30 minutes until 11:00 pm. The ticket costs about EUR 6. From Trapani the airport can be reached by the Regesta bus. It runs from the city from 9:00 to 2:00 pm or 4:30 pm, while from the airport from 12:30 to 6:00 pm or 10:30 pm. The approximate cost of the journey is EUR 7.50.

Train

Trinacria-Express train service connects Palermo directly to the airport. The approximate cost of the journey is EUR 5.50.

Taxi

The taxi rank is before the arrivals hall. A journey to the centre of Palermo takes about 45 minutes and costs about EUR 35 with a taximeter on, but sometimes you need to negotiate.

Car

The airport is located 35 kilometres from Palermo city center. Arriving by car from Palermo, we should take the A29 towards Trapani, then to the exit "Puntaraisi-Aeroporto Falcone e Borsellino".

Parking fee can be paid at the exit, which is the quickest way to do it, but only credit cards are accepted. In the arrivals hall and within the car park there are also payment machines and you can pay with cash or credit card.
