Flybe

Flybe was a British airline headquartered in Exeter, England. Serving 15 European countries, the carrier flew 8 million passengers a year. It was founded in 1979 under the name Jersey European Airways. Following several mergers, it was renamed British European in 2000. It had been operating as Flybe until 2023. It was named the most punctual UK-based airline in the 2018 On-Time Performance Service Awards.

Baggage

Passengers can carry on board one cabin bag no larger than 55 x 35 x 20cm as well as one small underseat bag such as a laptop bag or a handbag. These two items may not weigh more than 10kg. If the baggage does not adhere to the requirements, it will not be allowed to be carried into the cabin. If so, it will be transported in the aircraft hold and an additional charge will be collected. Cosmetics such as: perfume, toothpaste, deodorant, shaving foam, lip gloss can be carried in 100ml or smaller containers, all packed in a clear, plastic bag. Electronic cigarettes must be in a carry-on, not in checked baggage and they are not permitted to be used during the flight under any circumstances. It is recommended not to carry refills as some airports may confiscate them.

Hold baggage can be added online through the Flybe reservation tool, via the call centre, or at the airport, however the latter is more expensive. Passengers can choose from the two options - one piece of hold baggage weighing up to 23kg or two pieces of hold baggage, each weighing up to 23kg.

Booking classes

Customers travelling on Flybe could choose from the three fares: Just Fly, Get More and All In. The first one included only the ticket and a cabin bag. It was, however, possible to add one or two pieces of 23kg hold baggage or other extras for a fee when flying on this ticket. For Get More customers a standard 23kg bag was included in the fare, however, it could be increased online. With Get More, passengers could reserve their preferred seat for free. All In tickets featured two items of hold baggage up to 23 each, extra legroom seats, complimentary refreshments on board and more. Students could count on a special hold baggage deal with 46kg for the price of 23kg.

Online check-in

Online check-in could be done between 36 hours and 1 hour before scheduled departure (it was 2 hours before the departure when checking-in at Paris Charles De Gaule) via Flybe.com or the mobile application. In order to do this, a passenger needed to enter their booking reference and surname in Manage Booking. It was available at selected departure airports. After checking-in successfully, the boarding pass would need to be printed.

Flybe operated a fleet of over 70 aircraft including: ATR 72-600, Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, Embraer 175, and Embraer 195.
