Blue Air

Blue Air offered flights to over 100 different flights, such as flights in Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Spain, and the United Kingdom. The company has nine operational hubs – in Alghero, Bucharest, Bacau, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Iasi, Larnaca, Liverpool, and Turin.

Blue Air baggage

Passengers could take one hand baggage on board – without any additional baggage fees. Purses and bags for cameras/laptops had to be packed in the hand baggage. This baggage could not exceed 10 kg in weight and 55 x 40 x 20 cm in size.

When it came to checked baggage – passengers were allowed to take up to 4 pieces of checked baggage, each piece could not exceed 32 kg in weight and 100 x 80 x 30 cm in size. The allowed weight depended on the chosen booking class (20 kg for the Classic travel class and 32 kg for the Premium travel class).

Blue Air booking classes

There were three booking classes available in the Blue Air's offer: Light, Classic and Premium, all of them provided free of charge check-in.

Light class was related to lowest fares and had one hand luggage included in the price.

Classic class – passengers could take one additional small checked-in luggage (20 kg) and they could choose their seat. Passengers also had a 50% discount for date or route change fees.

The Premium – passengers could take a larger checked-in luggage (32 kg), they could change their booking without any additional fees and they could also choose a comfort seat, as well as (on most routes) receive free meals.

Online Check-in

Blue Air check in online was available 30 days before the planned departure. However, passengers had to do the check in no later than 12 hours before the flight. If there were any changes In the booking, the passenger would need to do the check-in again. The option of online check-in was possible on almost all Blue Air flights, however there were some exceptions, such as flights from Lisbon, Palma de Mallorca or Tel Aviv.

Fleet

The carrier had various planes in its feet. There were 30 narrow-body passenger planes Boeing 737, series 737-300, 737-400, 737-500, 737-700 and 737-800.

Blue Air Headquarters

The airlines had its main base in Bucharest-Otopeni (Henri Coandă International Airport).

At the airport, passengers can find a lot of shops, cafes, Internet spots, as well as a chapel.

The airport is located about 16,5 km from the city center. Passengers can get to the airport by train, bus (the final stop - Gara de Nord, taxi or rented car.

Passengers traveling with Blue Air could take advantage of many different delicious products, such as sweets, snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as hot and cold dishes.. Hot meals were available on longer routes, as well as on flights to/from Bucharest or Sibiu, in which case passengers had to book the desired meal at least 12 hours before the planned flights.
