Reykjavik
Reykjavik is the capital and largest city of Iceland, set in the south-west of the country on Faxa Bay. It is the northernmost capital in the world. It is home to 131 thousand people, while the wider urban area has 222.5 thousand inhabitants, about two thirds of Iceland's population. Reykjavik is known for its hot springs and geysers. Its subarctic climate is tempered by ocean currents, with warm summers and freezing winters. The city is best visited in summer, when temperatures are more pleasant.
