Hannover
Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony, is situated on the River Leine. This city boasts a rich history dating back to 1022 when a market settlement was established here. In the 13th century, it gained city rights, and in the 14th century, it was surrounded by walls with numerous towers, many of which still stand today, such as Pferdeturm and Beginenturm. Hanover was a member of the Hanseatic League and an important trade center. The city enjoys a mild climate with warm summers and cool winters. It's best to visit in spring or summer when the weather is ideal for sightseeing.
