Reykjavik
Reykjavik is the capital and largest city of Iceland, located in the southwest of the country on Faxa Bay. It is the northernmost capital in the world. Home to about 131,000 people, the entire metropolitan area has 222,500 residents, making up about two-thirds of Iceland's population. Reykjavik is renowned for its hot springs and geysers. The subarctic climate is moderated by ocean currents, with warm summers and cold winters. The best time to visit the city is in the summer when temperatures are more pleasant.
