Izmir
Izmir, the third-largest city in Turkey, is located on the Gulf of Izmir in the western part of the country. Home to over 4.4 million people, it serves as an important commercial port and industrial center with tobacco factories, cement plants, and an oil refinery. Izmir also hosts the largest International Izmir Fair in the Middle East. The city's history dates back to 3000 BC, with significant development during the time of Alexander the Great. The Mediterranean climate makes spring and autumn ideal for visiting.
