    Zadar
Zadar is a picturesque city in Croatia, set in Dalmatia on the Adriatic Sea. It is the capital of Zadar County and the fifth largest city in the country, with a population of around 71 thousand. Its history reaches back to the 4th century BC, when an Illyrian settlement stood here. Roman remains such as the forum and the defensive walls are well worth a visit. Average summer temperatures reach around 30°C, which makes summer the best time to come, when the city buzzes with cultural life.
