Leipzig
Leipzig, the largest city in Saxony, located on the White Elster River, is one of the most important centers in eastern Germany. Home to over 620,000 residents, it is the eighth largest city in the country. Renowned for the Leipzig Trade Fair, it serves as a hub of commerce, culture, and science. Its historical architecture, including 19th- and 20th-century districts, survived the war almost intact. The temperate climate offers mild winters and warm summers, with spring and summer being the best times to visit when the city buzzes with cultural events.
