Riga
Riga, the capital of Latvia, is situated on the Daugava River, near its mouth into the Gulf of Riga. It is the largest city in the country, home to about 592,000 people. The city hosts a seaport and an airport, as well as an important railway hub. Riga is renowned for its historic Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its impressive Art Nouveau architecture. Average summer temperatures reach around 20 °C, while winter temperatures drop to -5 °C.
